CLASSES
All our classes are designed to not only challenge you physically, but help you grow mentally, too.
Regardless of age, martial arts training can help with self-discipline and in children can serve as an outlet for the emotions and anxieties that can often lead to behavioural problems.
Adult Classes
Taekwondo
Taekwondo is a Korean martial art, which translates as ‘The art of hand and foot’ - and that’s exactly what it is! Formed from Karate and Korean kickboxing, it’s known for its flamboyant kicks. Taekwondo helps develop flexibility and has a number of additional physical and mental health benefits.
Aspects you can choose to focus on include sparring, patterns, board breaking and techniques.
Kickboxing
Our kickboxing classes cover techniques from many forms of kickboxing including K1, Muay Thai and, of course, Taekwondo. The classes are less formal than Taekwondo, and are sport and fitness orientated. We’ve a wide range of students, both male and female. Some attend for fitness and to get a challenging workout, others look to the competitive side. Sparring in class is optional!
Teenagers aged 11-13 years are welcome to join the adult class, depending on their experience.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu is a physically demanding martial art which focuses on grappling and floor-work. What makes it especially interesting is that it relies on more than sheer physical strength – so gives as much of a mental challenge as a physical work-out. We run Gi and No Gi sessions for adults, which can be attended by teenagers 13+ depending on ability.
